Putting Action Into Words: The Poetry of Fair Housing

Tuesday - Oct 8, 2019
6:30 to 7:30 pm

Wisconsin Poet Laureate Margaret Rozga believes in poetry's power to open doors to new insights into social justice issues. In reading poems from 200 Nights and One Day, her book about Milwaukee's struggle for fair housing, she brings to life again her experiences marching in Milwaukee for fair housing legislation. In this presentation, she will also discuss recent fair housing policy and poetry successes during the 50th anniversary of those historic fair housing marches. Questions from the audience will follow.
